These wool socks are handknit for babies. The colour is the orange from Orange Shirt Day, September 30. Please read further about the significance of orange here and Residential Schools here. When the hundreds of children’s bodies were found in graves at Residential Schools across Canada, people placed children’s shoes in memoriam of each child lost. Instead of shoes, we chose to knit children’s socks. There are three sizes available and the money from each pair of socks sold will be collected and donated to the Native Women’s Association of Canada. We chose this group as they are an organization representing a political voice of missing and murdered Indigenous women and children in Canada. 

As people purchase socks, more will be listed in their place, and we will show a running total of the funds that will be donated to NWAC.
